Ale in BAZAAR

Top | Pant | Earrings | Bracelet

Perfect for making a bold statement on the red carpet or on the go for a laid-back day, monochromatic looks are a style favorite of supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio. Just in time for Labor Day, our favorite head-to-toe color scheme is sharp and chic white! We took inspiration from Alessandra Ambrosio’s recent cover of Harper’s Bazaar Greece; the ethereal yet elevated vibe of her styling is heavenly, and the beautiful contrast of the soft white with her dark features gives a gorgeous pop. Get your all white everything look on before Labor Day swoops in and takes away white from our fashion choices!

Blazer | Pant | Belt | Watch | Shoes | Clutch

The best part about an all white outfit? You can create an ensemble in practically any silhouette and the color will give your outfit a clean and crisp feel, without having to give too much thought to it. The key to giving your personal touch to all white outfits is in the styling. A bronzy glow in your makeup and accessories can optimize the effect of the white, or a dark red lip can be dramatically showcased against the sharp neutral.

Crop Top | Skirt | Belt | Necklace | Earrings | Sandals

Option 1 | Option 2 | Option 3

All white can be a hot look on the beach, too! A bright, white bikini looks good on every skin tone, and can even give the appearance of a tan before you’ve achieved that sun-kissed complexion. Feel your best in all white swimwear in your favorite silhouette! We love the all-white pieces in the ale by Alessandra swim collection, which feature cute cut-outs and sweet eyelet patterns.

BUILDING YOUR PERSONAL BRAND PART 2 – HOW TO MONETIZE FROM YOUR BLOG

Three weeks ago, I wrote a post on ‘Building Your Person Brand‘, today I want to drill down a little further from that topic and provide you a few quick tips on how to monetize from your blog based on the personal brand you have built… How many of you have dreamed about this ideal life of traveling the world and at the same time support that lifestyle with the money you earn from blogging, to replace your 9-5 corporate job, and be able to work from anywhere and everywhere in the world? …I certainly have! Having a blog is definitely a step closer for achieving that dream! It is a powerful tool for you to bring your life closer to your dream and help you to work toward financial independence. I have a few quick tips and secrets to share with you here in order to help you to build awesome contents and monetize from your blog quickly.

1. Be Specific with Your Content

There are millions of fashion and lifestyle bloggers out there. It is definitely difficult to be outstanding among the tsunami of bloggers in this era, and some of you might have invested a great amount of time on your blog hoping to create amazing content to attract more brand collaborations and sponsorship. The truth is, there is not easy way to stand out if you are competing against millions of bloggers out there. By focus on specific genre or content on your blog (eg: Shoes, Handbags, denim, petite or plus size), we will become the SME (subject matter expertise) and at the same time narrowed down competitions. Therefore, it would a lot easier for you to dominate that specific market and become popular among the brands, who have specific interests in the relevant market that you cover.

Mistakes to avoid: How many of you have tried to blast out dozens or hundreds of emails to the brands in order to pitch for collaborations and sponsorship, but barely receive any responses? This is not because your blog is not good enough, it is simply because the content of your blog might not be aligning with the specific interests of the brands. Having a blog with specific content would be able to help you pitch to the brands. A blog that focus on beauty products is more likely to be selected by a beauty brand than a blog with generic topic but more followers. This leads to my next point…

2. You Don’t Need a Large Amount of Social Media Followers to be Able to Monetize from Your Blog

To be honest, I have met so many bloggers who have around 20-30k followers on Instagram, but have worked with multiple top tier brands like FarFetch, Revolve, ASOS, YSL etc. How does this work? Well, it’s all about conversation rates. When your blog has specific content, it is more likely to attract followers with specific interests, and once they think you are the SME, it is more likely for them to value your opinion and purchase something that you have recommended them. Hence, this is a valuable measure for the brands, rather than the number of followers have you on social media platforms.

Mistakes to avoid: Rather than wasting time on  how to grow the number of followers on your social media platforms, you should spend your energy focus on the quality content that you will be producing in order to align with the strategy you have planned for your blog, and gaining quality followers who are more likely  to help you to improve your conversation rate. Once you got that right! The brands will start to knock on your door!

3. Reach out or join a support network

Doing and learning everything yourself could be very time consuming and frustrating sometimes. Yes, blogging can be overwhelmed with too many options and too much information sometimes. Having a support network is very crucial. Join support groups on Facebook or Telegram, where bloggers share their information, resources and contacts, and learn from each other mistakes and learn from the short-cuts other people have taken! Tony Robbins once said “If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results”. So reach out for the bloggers in your city, and catch up with them or attend events with them together, enjoy the most of your blogging career. Remember, blogging can also be simple and fun.

Mistakes to avoid: Try not to learn everything by yourself. It know online courses are easily accessible and you can pretty much google or youtube everything. However, this can be very time consuming, only if you know what to researh. Huge amount of time could be invested for archiving marginal results. Try to avoid the try and error, by talk to people who have done it before. Not every blogger is selfish and not willing to share, that’s definitely a wrong perspective to have towards the blogging industry. In fact, many of them are very friendly and helpful. I have met many of them during my travel and talked to countless of them in my support group to ask for advise and tips. It has been working out well for me. So don’t be shy to reach out. The worst that could happen is to get a NO for an answer and you can always move on and ask the next person 🙂

4. Take a Leap of Faith

Once you have a strong personal brand and a solid business network, then it is about time to take a leap of faith and start to build an empire of your own. Whether it’s a eBay store; launching a label of your own clothing life; or even start a social media company of your own. Having engaging followers, being the subject matter expertise, and a large network of the vertical supply chain of your industry would definitely help to take your business off in no time! See after all, it is not that hard to create your own dream job if you do it right!

Stay tuned for my Part 3, where I will be presenting you a few guest bloggers and share their past experiences of building their personal brands with you.

BUILDING YOUR PERSONAL BRAND

Whether you a salesman in a company, an editor at a magazine, or a personal blogger, everyone needs to define their personal brands. Whether people are buying into your product, service or your lifestyle, personal brand is the key to everything. So what are some of the yeas and nays for building your personal brand?

Let’s back track a little bit about how did I come up with this topic. After spending my last 2 weeks in 3 continents, I rushed back to Hong Kong to join the biggest Start-up Conference in Town – Rise Conference, and this is where I met Gary Vaynerchuk, got totally inspired by #AskGaryVee. For those who don’t know, he was named to both Fortune and Crain’s 40 under 40 lists in consecutive years, and has been profiled in the New York Times, Fortune, Inc., and many more; and he is a prolific angel investor and venture capitalist, investing in companies including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Uber, and Birchbox before co-founding VaynerRSE, a $25M investment fund. He is most famous for his #AskGaryVee YouTube….So the key takeaway for above is >>> He is an Entrepreneur, who really knows how to use social media to build his personal brand.

So what are some of the key things that you should absolutely focus?

  1. Be yourself 24 x 7 x365

Originality is the most important key of building your personal brand. It’s not about what others do; it’s not about what is trending in the market or social media; it’s not about what others think… It’s all about what you think is right. People are buying into your personal brand because they like you idea and what you have offered. Don’t be the trend spotter, but be the next trend setter!

  1. Do your research

It takes time to be any subject matter expert. Thanks to the great invention of internet, all the information are so easily accessed nowadays. It is exceptionally important to do the research and know who are the top performers in the your space, and to know who you will be competing against with. It is equally important to do your research and reach out for the subject matter expertise for collaborations and JVs to boost up your exposures.

  1. Strategy & Patience

Once you figure out personal brand, it is essential to have a strategy of how to monetize your personal brand. Try to think big, and aim bigger. Building a personal brand is like running a business, you need to set your key strategy. The place where you want to make the money are the place where you have control, not somewhere you think where money will be. It is important to have full control of your personal brand, brand strategy, and execution. Too people focused on where they think the money will be, but they have little controls of. It can be something like a very competitive market with over supplied resources, shrinking demands. Try avoid those. Patience, is another key to the success. Rome was not built in one day. Your blog or your brand is not gonna go viral over night. You need to stick to your strategy and work hard for it!

  1. Work it like breathing air

Last, not the least, you need to work extremely hard for you to stand out from the crowd. Remember building a personal brand is not working for your boss, or working for your money. It’s your ultimate brand image that your are working for. You need to work for it like something you can’t live without with, like breathing the air. Which lead to the next key point that I want to bring up – which is to build your personal brand around your passion!

  1. Passion, Passion, Passion!

You not gonna love your life or your work if you don’t have the passion for it. Many people waking up hating their job, so you are not motivated to get out of the bed every morning. If you are building an empire around your passion, they won’t see working as a stressful day job, instead, you will see it as your play day, and you are earning money while you are ‘enjoying’ life! So think more than twice when you plan out your personal brand and how you set the strategy to achieve it.

LA STREET STYLE

A perfect outfit for any day of the week.

I’ve noticed that lately my blog has consisted a lot of outfits that tend to be on a more “dressier” side of the closet so I thought why not share some of my new fave basics of the wardrobe I’ve recently added.

I have recently discovered LAhub – an online boutique that showcases products from a highly curated mix of LA-based fashion, beauty and lifestyle designers. Instead of browsing around to put together an outfit, they’ve made it easy to shop an entire look head-to-toe on their website! This tee and jewelry are both by local LA designers that could be found on LAhub, which I am also linking at the bottom of the post so you ladies can shop these pretty pieces.

I think it’s extremely important to support designers that are building a business on their own and are sharing their beautiful items for us all to have a part of their art piece as our closet. I myself have started blogging on my own with support from my family and friends and I know how important it is for others to believe in you and your work. I am very thankful to a platform like LAhub that gives an opportunity to these designers to showcase their work and tell their story, letting you shop LA lifestyle.

HOW TO PLAN A PERFECT PICNIC

Tips & tricks on how to make your picnic perfect.

Third picnic in two months? Why not. It took me a while to nail down all the things that go into a picnic, so today I am sharing a fun detail you’ll need to add to yours! It’s also a perfect one for a date night [day] as well.

The list for planning a picnic is endless, you need to pack everything you might end up needing. I like to compare picnics to road trips, since you can’t go back once you leave, you have to commit to what you have on you and make the most out of it. Now that you have all the basics such as blanket, glasses and some snacks you need worry about which wine to bring along. Well, VINEBOX has made it easy by bringing the variety of wines into a pretty box that you could literally bring anywhere with you.

My biggest struggle with wine [& pretty much everything else in life lol] is I get bored of the same thing over and over. VINEBOX is a subscription service where you get a diversity of wines packaged in three vials [per box] that are perfect for tasting a full glass of wine without the commitment of a whole bottle. If you’re looking for a wine you can find at a grocery store around the corner from your home – you won’t find it here. These wines are carefully curated and are selected from small vineyards all around the world so that you can get a taste of a special wine that’s from another country and has been grown on a small winery by a passionate wino. We ended up bringing two boxes to our little picnic as we wanted to try quite a few, Adam is a big red wine drinker so he ended up having two or three glasses all to himself without sharing. The reason why these work for us and our lifestyle is he drinks [only] red and I am a big lover of white and rosé so this is a perfect product for both of us as neither one of us like sharing.

If this is the first time you’re hearing of VINEBOX, I highly suggest you check out their website HERE and if you don’t feel like subscribing right away, you can also try out their season option which right now is a rosé sampler on HERE.

What each box of VINEBOX includes:

  • Three glasses of wine

  • Background on each wine so that you know what to pair it up with, the taste and where it came from.

Because I am a true vino myself, they’ve given me a discount that I could share with YOU! Use a code [SKY10] at the checkout to get 10% off your membership!

Thank you VINEBOX for partnering with me on this post.

WARDROBE ESSENTIALS: PACSUN DENIM

Essential you need as a part of your wardrobe.

With summer in full swing and I could not find a better time than now to share some of my faves by PacSun Denim that are all budget friendly and are perfect to wear all year long.

Online shopping can sometimes get overwhelming so I will link my entire look I am wearing at the bottom of the post along with some of my other faves I found for you ladies to shop. But, before we get into the shopping let’s talk about the four pieces you need for your wardrobe to make a statement on it’s own.

Not-so-basic tee. If you have been following me for a while you know that I am a huge fan of a good statement tee, if it comes in any basic color & has some cool wording or embroidery on it – I’m adding it to the cart. It’s one of those pieces that speaks on itself and when I spotted this tee “FEMINIST AF” on PacSun website I had to have it! Ladies, let’s all get on this feminist wagon and support one another because as they say “teamwork makes the dream work”.  [I am wearing a size Small, but sort of wish I west a size up for a more oversized, casual look].

Fun pair of denim. I’m very picky when it comes to denim pieces, not only because of the fit but of the look as well. I often find it harder to find a pair of jeans than a pair of shoes. If you’re like me you will looove this pair as it comes in sort of a multi-color look with a lighter and a darker shade of denim that you can literally pair up with anything. It’s also super easy to dress it up or dress it down. I paired it up with this casual tee and sneakers but you could quickly throw over a denim jacket, black heels and you’re ready for a night out. [Jeans are true to size, I got sz 24 & it fits like a glove, it also is low waist which I absolutely love].

Statement sunnies. Say hello to my 30th pair of Quay sunnies haha. Thanks to PacSun for making it sooo easy to put an entire outfit together just by clicking through different categories. Check out their entire accessories collection, they’ve got plenty of goodies to finish your look.

Fashion sneakers. Yay! I am now a proud owner of these Addidas kicks! I am sure you’ve seen them everywhere by now but I have been eyeing this pair for a long time and have finally gave in and added it to my closet as well so you’ll be seeing them quite a lot. The only reason I’ve been so sceptical and took so long to get this pair is because I have been hearing that they tend to run a size big, however I was pleasantly surprised after I chose 8.5 and it fit perfectly. I am guessing it depends on the shoe? PacSun does have reviews left by customers under the products so you can easily figure out what would fit you the best.

Thank you PacSun for partnering with me on this post.

Wonder Woman Stuff and Biography

Sia - To Be Human feat. Labrinth (From Wonder Woman Soundtrack) [Music Video]

Biography from: IMDb.com

Gal Gadot

Date of Birth30 April 1985Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel
Height5' 10" (1.78 m)

Mini Bio (1)

Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress, singer, martial artist, and model. She was born in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel, to a Jewish family (from Poland, Austria, Germany, and Czechoslovakia). Her parents are Irit, a teacher, and Michael, an engineer. She served in the IDF for two years, and won the Miss Israel title in 2004.

Gal began modeling in the late 2000s, and made her film debut in the fourth film of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast & Furious (2009), as Gisele. Her role was expanded in the sequels Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013), in which her character was romantically linked to Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang). In the films, Gal performed her own stunts. She also appeared in the 2010 films Date Night (2010) and Knight and Day(2010).

In early December 2013, Gal was cast as Wonder Woman in the superhero team-up film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and filming began in 2014 for a March 2016 release. Gadot received swordsmanship, Kung Fu kickboxing, Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in preparation for the role. As a result, her performance as the superhero, which is the first time for the character on film, was hailed as one of the best parts of the otherwise poorly-received film. The film is part of the DC Extended Universe, and Gadot plays the role again in the solo film Wonder Woman (2017), which was received very positively, and superhero team-up Justice League (2017).

Gal is a motorcycle enthusiast, and owns a black 2006 Ducati Monster-S2R. She has been married to Israeli businessman Yaron Versano since September 28, 2008. They have two daughters.

- IMDb Mini Biography By: Aj and Pedro Borges

Spouse (1)

Yaron Versano (28 September 2008 - present) (2 children)

Trade Mark (1)

Statuesque, model-like figure.

Trivia (20)

She won the Miss Israel title in 2004, and represented Israel at the 2004 Miss Universe beauty pageant.

She served for two years as sports trainer in the Israeli Defense Forces.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 26, a daughter named Alma Versano in November 2011. Child's father is her husband, Yaron Versano.

Is the first non-American actress to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

Her depiction of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman is the first live action appearance to audiences since the cancellation of the television series in 1979. The remaining regular television appearances of Wonder Woman were only in her animated form on Super Friends (1973) and Justice League (2001).

Was close friends with her Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker.

Is an avid motorcycle rider and owns a black 2006 Ducati Monster-S2R.

Enjoys basketball, volleyball and tennis.

Her first name is pronounced like a Spanish-speaking person would pronounce ''tal'' (in American English the closest vowel is the way the 'u' is pronounced in "cut"). Her last name most closely resembles "pot" or "knot" in English but would be slightly more correctly pronounced as rhyming with the German pronunciation of "Brot" (bread).

Her husband Yaron Varsano owned (with his brother) a hotel in the Neve Tzedek district of Tel-Aviv. In April 2015 it was sold for $25m.

She is the first actress to portray Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in a live-action theatrical film. Lynda Carter only performed the role for television.

Was up for the role of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).

Ranked #84 on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 Women of 2014 list.

She was offered to portray Faora in Man of Steel (2013), but turned it down due of her pregnancy at that time. The role was passed to Antje Traue.

Starred with both brothers Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck in two films released in 2016: Triple 9 (2016) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).

Unlike Lynda Carter's two children James and Jessica Altman, Alma and Maya Versano (Gal's two daughters) have the opportunity of seeing their mother in her Wonder Woman costume during filming production. Lynda did not have any children when she was married to Ron Samuels.

Her first and second name respectively mean, "wave" and "riverbank".

Gave birth to her 2nd child at age 31, a daughter named Maya Versano in March 2017. Child's father is her husband, Yaron Versano.

Starred in Criminal (2016) with Kevin Costner. The first day she and Costner met, they filmed a scene in which he was to tie her up and wrap her mouth with tape as a gag. In the scene of the film, Gadot is tied to her bed and gagged by Costner while he searches her house.

After deciding to turn to acting, her very first audition was for the role of Camille in the 007 film 'Quantum of Solace' (2008). Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko ultimately won the part.

Personal Quotes (6)

I definitely have a strong sense of my Jewish and Israeli identity. I did my two year military service, I was brought up in a very Jewish, Israeli family environment, so of course my heritage is very important to me. I want people to have a good impression of Israel. I don't feel like I'm an ambassador for my country, but I do talk about Israel a lot - I enjoy telling people about where I come from and my religion.

There aren't enough good roles for strong women. I wish we had more female writers. Most of the female characters you see in films today are "the poor heartbroken girl". That's why I'm so proud of the Fast movies. I feel like Giselle is an empowering woman.

My height is 178 cm, which explains how I got on the high school basketball team. I was not an amazing shooter, but I ripped them on defense.

[on Wonder Woman's smirk in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)] I did that. I remember after we did that take, Zack [director Zack Snyder] came to me and he said, 'Did you just have a smirk?' I said 'Yeah.' And he asked, 'Why? I think I like it, but why?' 'Well if [Doomsday's] gonna mess with her, then she's gonna mess with him. And she knows she's gonna win.' At the end of the day Wonder Woman is a peace seeker. But when fight arrives, she can fight. She's a warrior and she enjoys the adrenaline of the fight.

[on fan's backlash over her casting as Wonder Woman] They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small... They said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick. I can take anything. It's just empty talk. I can understand that part of what I'm doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire.

When I auditioned for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), I didn't know it was for Wonder Woman. The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncé Knowles. Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!

Salary (3)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)$300,000
Wonder Woman (2017)$300,000
Justice League (2017)$300,000

Actress Gal Gadot Biography From: Biography.com

Actress Gal Gadot has starred in several 'Fast and Furious' movies and played Wonder Woman in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.'

Synopsis

Actress Gal Gadot first attracted notice as the winner of Miss Israel in 2004 and went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant. She modeled for a time before undertaking two years of military service. Gadot then studied law for a time before pursuing acting opportunities. Fast & Furious (2009), the fourth installment of The Fast and the Furiousfranchise, was her first film role. She went on to land more movie parts, including the legendary comic book character Wonder Woman. Gadot played Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Early Life

Born on April 30, 1985, in Rosh HaAyin, Israel, actress Gal Gadot has appeared in such popular films as Fast & Furious (2009) and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Her father worked as an engineer and her mother was a teacher. Gadot was an athletic child, studying dance and playing several sports in her youth. One of her first career ambitions was to be a choreographer, she told Vanity Fair

When she was 18 years old, Gadot entered the Miss Israel competition. She thought that being in the beauty pageant “would be a nice experience” but “I never thought I would win,” Gadot explained to Glamour magazine. “I was shocked when they crowned me.” This victory helped launch her career as a model. She then served her mandatory two-year commitment in the Israel Defense Forces. After she completed her service, Gadot went to college to study law.

Thriving Film Career

While in college, Gadot was asked to audition to play the love interest of super spy James Bond in Quantum of Solace (2008). She had several callbacks, but she didn’t get the part. Still the experience sparked her interest in acting. As Gadot told Interview magazine, “I realized it takes a lot to act, and it's so much more interesting than going to law school.” She soon landed a role on an Israeli TV series and then a part in a feature film.

In 2009, Gadot made her film debut as Gisele in Fast & Furious starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. She returned to play the role in several sequels: Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and Furious 7 (2015). Gadot soon landed a role of a lifetime when she was cast as Wonder Woman (and her alter ego Diana Prince) in the big budget action film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Getting into character presented her with some challenges, as she told Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show. At first, her costume “was so tight, I literally could not breathe.” Despite any wardrobe issues, Gadot sees the significance of Wonder Woman as a role model. She explained to Glamour that “it was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she’s not there because of a love story.”

After her role in Batman v. Superman, Gadot will once again play Wonder Woman in her own film, which is set for a 2017 release. She will also be appearing in several upcoming Justice League movies. In addition to her work as Wonder Woman, Gadot also stars with Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Costner in the action drama Criminal (2016) and the upcoming comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses with Isla Fisher and Jon Hamm

Personal Life

Gadot is married to businessman Yaron Versano. The couple wed in 2008 and have a daughter named Alma.

how to dress down a fancy summer dress

The dress I’m wearing in the photos above is one of my most recent compulsive buys. I do a lot of shopping online since I live in the middle of nowhere. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to keep this dress when I received it but the fact that it was almost out of stock influenced my choice. However, since this pretty dress arrived on my doorstep, I’ve had a hard time to style it as an everyday outfit. While it’s not the fanciest dress I’ve owned, it’s not the most casual either!

That’s why for today’s outfit, I thought I would try to dress down this little dress. For this, I didn’t pick any accessories such as jewelry. The less the better! In this outfit, my only accessories are the sandals and the bag. The reasons why I picked these, in particular, is because they are casual yet still quite chic. I picked some sandals I bought last year from Zara. The red tone of these shoes actually compliments the print of the dress really well! I finished the look with my straw. I know we’ve seen this bag repeatedly on the blog but I can’t help it, not only it’s a cute one but it’s also super practical!

How would you dress down that kind of dress?
