A FAUX FOR DREAM

A FAUX FUR DREAM

Let’s talk about how ridiculously cozy this Faux Fur jacket is! What I love most about it is that you can totally dress it up or down. I loved pairing it with these light skinny jeans that are so comfy! But, I have also paired this jacket with leggings and my all time favorite Uggs and it’s still just as adorable! For you fashionistas out there, this jacket is a perfect winter staple for those who are willing to go a little outside the box. Add a little flare or a lot of flare with this jacket and these gorgeous red suede booties! How sassy are these babies?! I love that the heel isn’t too high so your feet won’t be killing you if you wear them all day. These shoes would also be perfect for a classic t-shirt or a super cozy sweater. I’m teaming up with Nordstrom today to sharing some winter favorites and this easy holiday look! I always love the variety of options Nordstrom has to offer so it’s my first pick for the holidays!

Since I’m always on the go, I try to bring a little as possible with me which makes this Crossbody bag perfect for me! And who doesn’t love a good bodysuit!? With it being so cold, you have to wear plenty of layers which can start to get super bulky. A is tight to your body and doesn’t bunch up! This is super stretchy and is great for us tall girls who have longer than normal torsos. If you’re in the market for a bodysuit, I would highly recommend this one! You can easily pair it with a pair of jeans, a skirt or under a dress!

The weather is finally starting to resemble winter and I am feeling the chill of the season. We have been staying warm inside watching our favorite Christmas movies and making yummy cookies! (Recipe linked in the post HERE!) What are your holiday plans for December? I’ve put a calendar together of what I’ll be doing, take a look HERE! There are so many fun activities to do with friends and family around Christmas that if I don’t write them done, I’ll never be able to remember them all! I hope you all feel the magic of the holidays this season! there is always something to be grateful for, big or small! XO

Flannel + Plaid

It’s time to talk cold weather outfits! That’s right, the time has come where you MUST wear a jacket with all your outfits. Or you will freeze your butt off outside! I try to stock up on jackets for myself, the babies and Trevor during Nordstrom fall sale which is a great time to buy them! This winter, I have stuck to more simple and cozy outfits that are easy to wear and are also super chic!

I’ve narrowed down my winter wardrobe to a few must-haves and of course, plaid is at the top of my list. I am OBSESSING over plaid this winter since it’s so festive and fun to dress up or down! This plaid boyfriend shirt is one of my favorites because it is oh so soft and long! This girl has a super long torso, which can make it pretty difficult to find shirts that fit properly. Needless to say, this flannel puffer jacket I CANNOT live without, especially since it is bone-chilling cold outside.

My Rag&Bone jeans have to be on of my absolute favorite pairs I own! Not only do I love everything about the color, they totally hold you in. Everyone needs a pair of reliable jeans! I am all for seeking out the best clothes that are super comfortable and these jeans are stretchy and move with you! You have to love that. Of course, what winter season is complete without adorable Ugg booties. These booties keep your feet nice and toasty PLUS they are extremely comfortable to wear throughout the day. I shopped all these goodies at my local Nordstrom which has everything I need not just for this outfit but for all my winter wardrobe must-haves!

How to Prepare for the Holidays

My goal is to be like a boy scout – always prepared. In all seriousness, my Type-A mind can’t wrap its head around being unprepared. Even though I’m focused on Halloween at the moment, I’ve already begun planning for the rest of the year. Namely, the holiday season. You bet as soon as November hits I’ll be decking my halls and swinging into the full-on festive mode.

The end of the year is always crazy. Between Thanksgiving, holiday parties, and any other holidays you might celebrate, November and December tend to be jam-packed with events and to-dos. This year, I refuse to let the chaos get the best of me and plan on keeping my cool and doing it all. Goals, right? So with that said, here’s my plan of attack.

Holiday Prep Tips: How to get ready for the holidays

+ Boost your immune system:

There’s nothing worse than getting sick over the holidays when there’s so much going on. Some of my favorite immune system boosting tips? Get enough sleep, take Vitamin C packets, wash your hands religiously, and always stay hydrated! If I know I’m going to be having a particularly crazy week, I try to limit the alcohol and junk food as well.

+ Get a head start on errands:

Finalize your plans and book any remaining travel you have left. Have guests come to town? Schedule a cleaning before they arrive and family time gets the best of you. Hosting a big dinner or party? Menu plan and prep in advance. Planning on giving gifts? Make a list and get a head start on your holiday shopping now. Chances are some things will be left until the last minute, but if you can get a sense of what needs to get done and what you can start on now, you’ll be better equipped to handle the craziness of the holiday season.

+ Stay organized:

To the point above, now is the time to get organized. Your calendar is your best friend! Make sure to write down important dates, take notes, and keep a to-do list. These will come in handy later.

+ Learn how to say no:

Rather than overcommit, be realistic about how many events you can attend. It’s ok to say no – it’s always better to follow through on your plans than flake or bail at the last minute. As much fun as the holidays can be, it isn’t worth it to run your body into the ground over a busy social calendar. There will always be more events, and nothing is more important than your health and quality time with loved ones.

In the spirit of thinking ahead, this look is definitely created with the holidays in mind! Shades of burgundy/wine are always a fall favorite, but throw in some velvet and all of a sudden you have a holiday party-ready look! This Free People dress is from

Lulus and it happens to be comfortable (accommodating a large meal, ha!) AND festive (love love love the dramatic sleeve details). You really can’t go wrong with the selection of dresses from Lulus for all of your fall and holiday festivities!

I’ll be sharing more tips on getting your body and mind ready for the holidays over the next few weeks. In the meantime, what is everyone dressing up as for Halloween?! xx
