Fall Finds + Layers

Fall Finds + Layers

I’m really excited about this post because I think you guys are going to love it! I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to bring you guys some of my favorite fall finds & tips on layering. Nordstrom is always my first stop shop when it comes to any season change but fall is by far my favorite one! They always have all the new trends and I love mixing high-end + low-end products and Nordstrom is the perfect place to do it.

Also, these jeans are ones I get asked about tons! They are Treasure and Bond! I’m a huge fan of that line and this is my first time trying the jeans. I love this boyfriend pair for a little more comfort and an extra hint of style.

On top of all that, this bag is from Madewell and while you already know I’m a huge fan of all Madewell bags I love the shape of this one and thought it was something different but still goes with so many outfits!

This outfit I changed up a little bit and felt like I was going back to my roots. I use to always wear blazers and then slowly stopped. I’ve been busting out all the blazers I had in my closet because now I can’t get enough of them. I love the mauve hue on this one but what I love most about a good blazer is that it takes a more sophisticated spin on a cardigan. While I do love myself a good cardigan sometimes something a little more tailored like a blazer is a lot more suiting. I will be linking a couple darling blazers I’ve found below!

BLAZERS

I also love this v-neck sweater. You can’t really see here but they have a lace detail on the sleeves that just enough sparks to the top. I wore it here in this IG picture so you can get a better look. I love a good grey color but I love how light + solid this hue is. It’s so soft and can easily be paired so many different ways.

Last but certainly not least (and the thing that I think makes an outfit) ACCESSORIES. Fun little fact, did you know that my favorite time to go ham on accessories is during the colder seasons – fall + winter. I love the wool hats, the big earrings, the oversized scarves, and of course a good pair of boots! I’m going to link a couple of my favorites for fall below but guys these earrings have been a hit! I didn’t know how much I would love them when I bought them but now I can’t stop wearing them. They also have a couple of shapes that a fun and pretty cute. A tip about wearing big earrings – if you can a good contrast try to find ones that are the opposites color of your hair or if you have some that blend into your hair color a little more wear your hair in a cute messy bun or up! I love these fun boots and have been wearing them all too much! I also wore them the other day out and about with Rosey. You can see a picture of my IG here.

I’m super excited to bring you guys some fun looks for fall! I have actually been pushing myself to step out the box a little more and create a look more inspo so I hope you’re enjoying it! XO

HOW TO WEAR THE SOCK BOOTIE TREND THIS FALL

This fall the trending bootie style is the sock bootie. The slightly taller version of the tradition ankle bootie is a slimmer, elongating style that I can’t get enough of. The sock bootie is more versatile – you can pair it with denim or a dress and it doesn’t cut you off the way ankle booties do. I almost never wear booties with a dress, but because the sock bootie hits higher on your calf – it actually elongates. You can also pair sock booties with denim or leggings. I’ve worn my denim tucked in, rolled up and over the bootie. Depending on the fit of your denim, you can really wear them anyway. I love these suede sock booties that I got this season. I have been getting so much wear out of them. The color is the perfect shade of brown too.

CORSET DRESS FOR FALL

Dress: NBD | Shoes: Steve Madden {on sale!} | Tote: Goyard {similar here} | Sunglasses: Cèline | Necklace: Monica Vinader {chain here} | Lips: MAC

Happy Halloween, babes –

I hope you’re all having a great week so far!  My bestie, McKenna Bleu came to town yesterday to spend a few days with us in Greenville and we love having her here.  Since wearing this dress last weekend in Charleston, the weather has completely changed and it is SO cold!!  However, this dress would be so cute layered with a chic jacket or cardigan for Fall.  I love the corset trend and feel like this is a subtle way of wearing it without being over the top.  I’ll be wearing white all year long, so I’m loving this look with booties and dark tote.

I am SO excited about having trick-or-treaters here for the first time!  We have so many kids in our neighborhood, so we are stocked and ready to go.  Cheers to All Hallows Eve!  (Literally, as I was typing this, M and J both said wtf is all hallows eve?!) 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by, x.

Hi there, babes –

I hope you’re all having a great week so far!  Whew, things have been crazy lately.  Between a week in LA, home for 36 hours, and a long weekend in Charleston – we are SO happy to be home and back to normal.  I’ve spent the last two days catching up on endless laundry, cleaning, and restocking our fridge and pantry.  So, back to normal, we are. 🙂

Over the last year or so, I’ve come to realize that a silk tank is one of my favorite closet staples.  I have them in all colors, some with lace, some with different necklines, but I love ALL of them.  And wear them constantly!  So easy to throw on and go, not to mention I love anything I can wear a bralette with.  Also, can we talk about this statement jacket?  I can’t get enough of it and it’s on MAJOR sale right now!  There’s nothing better than an outfit full of versatile, neutral closet staples.

Thanks so much for stopping by, x.

ITEMS YOU NEED REGARDLESS OF THE SEASON.

Items you should never purge out of your closet. I learned this lesson myself the hard way.

I’ve been MIA on the blog for some time now and there is a very good reason for that. Now only I am trying to limit my time on social media but I am also trying to share only what I think is worth sharing! I mean… quality over quantity, am I wrong?

I am sure you’ve all heard how crazy the weather in LA has been, it’s anywhere from low 60s to 100s and EVERYONE is confused with what to wear. I myself have already dropped off all my summer pieces at my parents’ house. This “seasonal confusion” has led me to this post where I wanted to share these two outfits by River Island. When packing everything up a few weeks ago before heading over to my parents I left a few summer/fall like clothing pieces that I figured might come in handy in case it warmed up. A few days later – a heat wave hit and these looks came in handier than I thought they would!

Two items you must always have in your closet, no matter what season it is:

  • Unique crop top. & I am not talking about a beach type of a crop top. Think of the nicest trouser pants you currently have in your closet and pick a crop top that would go with them! Most likely it will be one with unique detail on it that can be easily transitioned from day to night. One of my favorite ones is listed in this post as it literally goes with (almost) everything in my closet, whether it’s a high waist skirt or wide leg pants.

  • A classic jumpsuit. No matter what the weather is like outside you can almost always wear a jumpsuit. Not only it’s an effortless look but it also is a great statement piece that can be easily accessorized or styled with a jacket if the weather cools down.

Whether the weather takes a dramatic turn or not by having the pieces listed below you’ll be fine no matter where you’re headed to. I promise.

Thank you, River Island for partnering with me on this post.

HOW TO ROCK THE SOCK BOOT TREND FOR AUTUMN FALL

SOCK BOOT FEVER

How to Style and Which to Buy

It’s the love/hate trend you’ve undoubtedly seen all over social media. The sock boot teamed with everything from leather trousers and super feminine dresses, to jumpsuits and mini skirts. Designer or high street, it’s the trend that seems to be dividing us but I for one am a definite fan of this statement look.My usual go-to boot is anything with a pointed toe and/or killer heel that elongates the leg and leaves me feeling like I could conquer the world as I strut down the high street. There’s something about a statement boot that elevates any outfit for me and the sock boot is the new kid on the block that’s shaking up our style.

When making a purchase, no matter what the price point or the brand, I always look for something that I can transition through seasons and that I can team with most of my wardrobe. The sock boot is no exception and I feel like I hit the jackpot with this Balenciaga style. Over on my looks page, you’ll find them teamed with so many outfits and this Balmain look I sported in Paris is one of my favorites.

Here’s my take on how to style the sock boot and the best pairs out there no matter what your budget may be.

The Look

While in Paris with my L’Oreal Paris family for fashion week, I wore these Balenciaga boots with so many outfits, but this may be my favorite of the trip. The contrast of the mid-calf height boot against the leather mini skirt is edgy, cool and the black and tan color palette gives a nod to the fall leaves turning this time of year. Such a simple outfit, without the statement boots, would easily melt into the background but the sock boots bring the look into Fall 2017 and right on trend.

How To Style

I thought it might be helpful, for the first time on the blog, to not only give you my favorites and dupes of the featured piece but to suggest some items I have already styled and want to style with them going further into the season. Below you’ll find some pieces you may have already seen pictures that I’ve teamed with my sock boots, others that are recent additions to my wardrobe waiting to be styled with them and other pieces that I have my eye on for upcoming features on the blog and events over the festive period. Hope you love to see what items I am styling with the boot of the moment!
